Art Club Autumn 2009

Art Club will start on Tuesday 22nd September from 3.45-5.00 pm in room 49.

It is open to all lower school but particularly year 7. There will be a different art, craft or design activity each week. We hope to make something that you can take home that evening, or the following week if it needs to dry, and to try out a range of 2D and 3D materials.

There will be a list inside the door of art-room 49 for you to sign up for an activity. For safety reasons only the first 15 will be able to take part each week. The new list will go up on the Wednesday and be removed on the following Tuesday morning before that evening’s club.

The provisional activities are as follows. (Week 1 is definite, but some weeks may end up as a continuation of the previous activity if it’s not finished)

Week 1 (Tues 22nd September) Mod-roc landscapes or figures

Week 2 (Tues 29 th September) Mod-roc landscapes or figures and painting

Week 3 (Tues 6 th October) Mono-printing

Week 5 (Tues 13 th October) Stencil prints

Week 6 (Tues 20 th October) Foil Embossing

Week 7 (Tues 3 rd November) Screen printing with stencils

Week 8 (Tues 10 th November) Screen printing with stencils

Week 9 (Tues 17 th November) Plaster casting

Week 10 (Tues 24 th November) Painting Plaster casts

Week 11 (Tues 1 st December) Christmas/gift cards

Week 12 (Tues 8 th December) Personalised mugs

Week 13 (Tues 15 th December) Decorated boxes and wrapping paper

PLEASE BRING YOUR LAB COAT AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING TO EACH SESSION AND MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PARENTS KNOW WHERE YOU ARE.

OPEN ART- ROOM

If you want to work on an individual or group project that you have planned yourself, or just finish something off, there is also an open art-room session in room 49 most Mondays during lunch. Boys will be able to use the room under teacher supervision.
