Other Admissions

Occasionally we have vacancies outside the normal points of admission, which are the beginning of Year 7, and the Sixth Form. Such vacancies are rare and we cannot predict when they might occur.

If you are interested in applying for one of these occasional vacancies for your son, you must complete a London Borough of Sutton mid-term application form, irrespective of where you live. You do not apply directly to the school.

The LBS mid-term application form can be downloaded here. Mid term application form.

If you are currently overseas but planning to move to Sutton in the near future, please read this advice published by the School Admissions team at the London Borough of Sutton

Applying for school places in Sutton from Overseas

We will be informed that you have made an application to the school and, in the vast majority of cases, we will respond by indicating that we have no vacancies and will not be able to admit your son to the school. His name will then be kept on a waiting list for the remainder of the academic year in which you have applied. The onus is on you to let us know at the end of that academic year if you wish your son’s name to remain on the waiting list.

In the event that there is a vacancy, all parents with boys on the waiting list will be contacted to see if they are still interested in pursuing their application. Candidates will be invited in for testing and the place will then be offered to the best performing boy of selective ability. For ad hoc vacancies of this sort, candidates are typically tested in English, science, mathematics, and a modern foreign language, at the appropriate level for the age of the candidates.

We do not test boys on the waiting list unless there is a vacancy.

Parents/guardians have a statutory right of appeal if a place is not offered.
