Sutton Grammar is one of the top state schools in the country. Our academic achievements are excellent, and last year a record number of our students progressed to Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities.

As you may know, all state schools face significant financial challenges. Government funding has been under pressure for many years and, compared with local independent schools, Sutton Grammar receives only around 25 per cent of the average budget per student. Despite these constraints, we continue to match or exceed the outcomes achieved by independent schools.

Why Your Support Matters

This success is only possible because our community contributes in ways that extend far beyond the classroom.

Our Parental Giving Scheme bridges the gap between where basic government funding ends and the Sutton Grammar experience begins. Donations from parents help fund key activities that support the outstanding teaching and learning we offer, including:

• Enhancing specialist subject facilities and maintaining up-to-date learning resources
• Lunchtime and after-school clubs across music, sport, STEM, languages and the arts
• Specialist technicians supporting student learning in a range of subjects, including science and maths
• Competitions, visits, guest speakers and wider enrichment opportunities
• Pastoral initiatives that build confidence, resilience and well-being, including support for students facing challenges when they most need it

How You Can Help

To continue providing an education that is academically excellent, genuinely enriching and character forming, we ask all parents to give a voluntary contribution of £60 per month per child. Some families choose to give more, and some less. Every contribution helps us provide our students with the very best start.

Every contribution is voluntary, treated in the strictest confidence, and can be amended or paused at any time. The process is simple, and even a small monthly donation helps us continue providing the outstanding Sutton Grammar experience for every student.
