Key Stage 3 chemistry is taught in Years 7 & 8.
In Year 7, pupils are taught in their form groups of 27, allowing them settle quickly into their forms. They have 4 chemistry lessons per fortnight.
In Year 8, pupils are taught in smaller groups of 27, comprising 6 students from each of the form groups. This enables the pupils to start mixing with others in their year group and also increases the time teachers can spend with individual pupils. These groups are not streamed by ability. Year 8 groups also have 4 chemistry lessons per fortnight.
