North Korea in nuclear negotiations

North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-Un is offering to have talks about relinquishing his nuclear arsenal.

Kim Jong-Un made offers to negotiate freezing his nuclear program. If the talks happen, he will stop nuclear tests during the period.

He has also set up a hotline to talk to the South Koreans about lowering the military defences around their countries. There are hopes that the actions between North Korea and the South Korea will see warming in their relationship.

President Donald Trump tweeted: “For the first time in many years, a serious effort is being made by all parties concerned.” and also claimed “the US is ready to go hard in either direction!”  They are planning to have a meeting from some time in May but the place is unknown.

Some people claim that Kim Jong-Un is doing this only to secure safety from the military of the US. There is no evidence for this - it may be purely to ease the threats between the two countries.

If these rivalries end, the world would be safer from nuclear armageddon. The two powerful leaders have previously been throwing threats at each other, using TV conferences or Trump’s tool of choice - Twitter.

Both of their nuclear arsenals have enough power to potentially destroy entire civilisations. The recently deceased Stephen Hawking even claimed that nuclear weaponry is one of the biggest potential causes of mass extinction.

This means that, if the ongoing talks proceed smoothly, the Americans and North Koreans, as well as other allies, will be in relative safety.
