What does this mean for students and the school?

Acceptance on the scheme allows us to give a monthly award from September to June to recognize the achievement of an SGS student publicly with a framed certificate and later at an outside Awards Ceremony, with a special winner's medallion.

The monthly winner will also win £200 to benefit the school community through a list of projects drawn up by the school council. The winner decides which project should benefit.

In a similar way, from previous years, it will be possible to recognize the achievement of one member of staff per year. More details to follow in the New Year.

How are Achievement Awards chosen?

Winners are chosen from nominations received by a panel of the two Senior Prefects with special responsibility for student affairs - Senior Prefect for Student Voice, Senior Prefect for Promotion of Student Activities - and a member of staff, at present the Deputy Head.

Can I make a nomination and for what?

Nominations for this award are welcomed from students, staff, parents, governors or members of the public. Choose someone who you feel has contributed to the school or community in a significant way. Recipients do not have to be the best at sport, work or anything else. Achievement Award winners can be recognized for personal development and positive personality traits. Be aware that Award Winners can only win the award at the school once.

How do I make a nomination?

Please download a nomination form from this web page  on the right, or, if in school, collect one from the box outside the Staff Room. Details of how to submit completed nominations are on the nomination form.

Thank you for taking the time to find out about another way we can all celebrate the achievements of the SGS community. We look forward to receiving your nominations.
