Pastoral Care is extremely important. Every student needs to feel that they are a valued and an integral part of the school community and we make sure that they are well cared for and happy.
In Year 7 students will join one of five forms on entry and each student is assigned to a particular House. Likewise, in the Sixth Form new students to the school will join one of six forms and be assigned to a House. Each form is under the guidance of a form tutor who gets to know every student as an individual.

Sutton Grammar School has a strong reputation as a relatively small, caring school in which students behave in a spirit of mutual self-respect, and in which a disciplined environment ensures that each student looks after the well-being and safety of the others.
The experienced Head of Year 7, Head of Lower School and Heads of Upper School and Head of Sixth Form lead the tutors in looking after the welfare of all members of the School community and providing additional help and support when required.
The School caters well for students with specific needs, liaising with parents and external agencies to ensure that each boy receives expert monitoring and good strategies to enable him to enjoy his education.
