Year 7 Admissions

Sutton Grammar School admits 135 boys into year 7 each September, into five forms of 27 boys.

Each boy is affiliated to one of five Houses, and boys retain their house affiliation throughout their time at the school.

Boys are admitted to the school on the basis of their academic ability, which we assess via an entrance test taken when the boys are in year 6.

The Selective Eligibility Test (SET) is the first stage test common to Greenshaw High School (selective band), Nonsuch High School for Girls, Sutton Grammar School, Wallington County Grammar School, Wallington High School for Girls, and Wilson's School.

Some of these schools may have further stages of testing. Please see the individual schools' websites for details.

Sutton Grammar School operates a second stage of testing, which it shares with Wilson's School and Wallington Boys.
