Sixth form at Sutton Grammar School sits very much within the wider school body. We want all sixth formers to be role models, and as such there is a big emphasis on volunteering and helping out to support school events and to integrate with younger students. These opportunities range from the chance to lead a society, to support the running of an Open Evening. Students can also take up roles as Mentors, Prefects, within the CCF or as part of the Head Student Team.
Students joining the school at sixth form are supported by a thorough programme of integration that begins from the first time they arrive at school, and continues throughout their time here. Beyond induction activities, students have mentors, specific meetings led by the Head of Year and a dedicated Careers Advisor appointment in order to support their success at Sutton Grammar Sixth Form. The successful integration of students into our sixth form is clearly reflected in all aspects of life at SGS, seen most visibly through the amount of these students who go on to take up positions of responsibility in the school.
